An Open Letter To Mother Nature

Dearest Mother Nature,

Last night I was supposed to go and work my horse. I have a new plan for him and some new things I want to try with him. I arrived to pick up my boots at my parents’ house 5 minutes down the road form the barn only to exit my truck and hear thunder. Now, I appreciate rain, but we’ve had plenty for a little bit here. So thank you for the rain, but please do it at more convenient times.

Last night you gave us tornado-force winds and all kinds of hail and even knocked over enough trees that I’m still without power at my house this morning. Oh, and that big branch on my fence gate, that’s also really apprecaited.

Seriously not appreciated.

Now I know you can do much worse, and I really do respect you, but I have horse things to do. And lake things. And all of these things require that you cooperate with me and hold off on the damaging winds and excessive rain we’ve been getting.

Really excessive rain.

I would really thank you if you would hold off on the severe weather for the weekend while I get the boat out on the lake and the horse under saddle. Please keep this in mind while you formulate your next move.

Regards,

Kristy & Smokey & The Boat

Sounds like you live near me! That was my world last night too. And the barn is still swamped from a few nights ago when we got 3″ of rain. I need muck boots for the horses!
