Because I’m in love with (really just obsessed with) these mustangs, I just wanted to update on the recent BLM online adoption. It seems that folks don’t want a mustang for Christmas this year (who wouldn’t, you crazy people?!). Only a few got adopted and those that did generally went for the opening bid.
Firstly, when I opened up this set of adoptees, the very first stinkin’ horse was Smokey’s giant twin. That got me all riled up, so I tried to avoid the adoption until it was over, lest I do something rash like put in a bid…
At 15 hands, this guy would make Smokerton look like a mini. Yeah. He’s a little guy.
Later at the same facility I fell in love with this guy, who didn’t get adopted! Please save me, adulthood and self restraint. This guy is just the tops. Look at his adorable ears! I would give my left arm (the one Smokey hurt) for this guy. Maybe someone will deliver him to me for Christmas…..Santa, baby?
I’m in love.
Overall the two top sellers were a colt who is already halter trained and a palomino. Not too shabby, but I think we all know what I think horse people should be getting for Christmas…
Maybe next year I’ll play Santa to myself and pick one of these cuties up. Right now, my new [used] round pen will have to satisfy me unless someone wants to fund his board for me. Then I’ll figure out how to get my darling little roan on the truck to Florida in January.
Speaking of, they had to postpone the last adoption event of the year that was to be held in North Florida. I’m not sure the circumstance, but I’d be one sad person if I didn’t get my baby home for the holidays like some of these folks.
