Clean as a Whistle

I’ve been fretting over Smokerton heading to Elisa‘s since I agreed to send him, but I think this weekend really cemented that I’m doing the right thing.  While we had more good rides than bad, he did give me a bout of not paying attention and just generally crummy attitude on Sunday and it made me realize that someone needs to kick his butt a little bit and I know Elisa is the right person to do that. He’s being picked up on May 1st and we’ll take it from there!

I decided that after our little row in the arena, we would duke it out on the wash rack while I bathed him. He was tolerable, still irritated by the water on his neck and a bit dance-y for my taste, but we got it done. He was clean as a whistle for about 4 hours until it thunderstormed and I’m 100% positive he found the biggest mud puddle possible and rolled in it. Such is the futility of horse ownership.

Proof that he was clean at one point!

About smokeythemustang

I'm just a girl who loves horses, who's asking horses to love her back. Right now I'm training a wild mustang. Or he's training me. You decide.
